Trial and Error

I got daring and sorta crocheted a circle! I found this tutorial and just LOVED them! Even though the direction aren't completely in English you get the gist of it! My mistake was I made 13 rows in the middle part and you were only suppose to do 12, so mine twists up instead of laying flat.  Trial and error right!?

Next, the giant granny! It's coming along ok. I started it with crappy yarn (stiff and itchy), because it was a practice, but now I want to finish it. My lil fingers are sore from crocheting. How's everyone's crocheting going? Sore fingers too? Comment with links to your creations, I want to see them!

Andrea is 28 on the 28th!

Today is my very dear friend, Andrea's 28th birthday!! She's an editor for the Air Force newspaper in Georgia, and I miss her very much (even though I saw her this weekend lol).

Halloween Masks

Paper devil mask!

Here are some wonderfully creepy masks! They cost one whole dollar at Walmart. As much as I can't stand Walmart these were completely worth the trip! I bought one for my sister too!

Halloween Present

Here we are as vampires! More pictures here.

My sister, Lauren, was a ballerina vampire. I was a prom queen of the dead vampire. Our dad was a lumberjack vampire, lil Mags was a lil indian vampire, and my brother, Danny, well he's famous for rising from the dead (don't be offended lol). We all had these fangs you had to glue to your teeth, they were so complicated, and quickly fell off! My sister and I found it hard to put on such pale makeup. Blush and bronze go a long way!

I love my family so much! You all are so awesome!

Past Halloweens

Here's my wonderful family in 2007, we called this Oz Fest! What good sports they are!

Here is a picture where I asked everyone to frown, and they did! Daniel (bud/coworker/graphic designer) photoshopped us into the Farley Family -dundundun!

This amazing tote is from Jessy! 

We did a swap, and she made mine so personalized! I was sooo impressed! The tote itself is beautiful with a little blonde felt mermaid, because I do love mermaids. ;)

The fabric on the inside of the tote has oranges! She's so clever - because I'm a Florida gal. Florida is best known for it's oranges! 

My most FAVORITE was the "Becky loves Mickey 4eva" stitched into the little bag! Jessy you are just too sweet! This is so perfect! Thank you so much!

Granny Crazy

Made some more granny squares! I took Carly's advice and made more red ones. You all liked the red the best too, and so did I! So apparently, I hold the crochet hook thingie wrong, so my Nanny told me. I think I do the same with knitting needles too. I'm not sure how to fix it, and the end product is the same so maybe it's no biggie. But my fingers are always sore after I crochet - is that normal? And was I suppose to only do 3 colors and use the 4th color to connect them all? Comment if you know ;)

New Yarn

I love when yarn is on sale! Look at all the pretty colors! Are you suppose to use a specific yarn type for crocheting? Let me know if you are, because I just buy whatever.

Yesterday was chilly in Tampa! It was 66 degrees, which is freezing to me! I had my first warm Starbucks drink, socks and hoodie on, and a fat little Mickey on my lap while crocheting these little granny squares! It was a very nice day!

So any special yarn? And which color combination do you like best from the three above?

Happy 50th Birthday Mama!

Today my mom, lil Mags, as we call her, is 50! Happy Birthday to you! 

We had a wonderful party over the weekend for her! There was lots of dancing, wine, food, friends, and even singing! My friend had an awesome idea for her wedding guest book, she had everyone take a picture with a Polaroid Camera (I used that new little fujifilm Polaroid camera) and then write alil something. So I made a "We HEART Mags because........." book. She loved it!

RED DIE

So did you know Halloween is my most favorite? -duh

For the past few years my family and I have had an awesome Halloween party, each year better than the last if I do say so! This year the five of us (yes my sister is driving all the way down from Nashville with her pup, Pumpkin) are being Vampires! Not a huge surprise because I fell in love with Sookie and Co. (mostly Eric). Anyways, here are the in-bites (get it) I made, and

sent out to my family. I wish I could see their faces when they came in the mail!

Pretty white envelopes + red food coloring (3 bottles) = frightened mailman!

I designed the invitations in photoshop and cut them down into little coffins!

I added the spider and web for fun, then hole punched them, and tied them shut with a red ribbon! I'm super stoked with how they turned out! Now I can't wait to see my family all dressed up!

Skull & cross BOW

Today Halloween-ness is a pretty pink flower with a little skull in the middle! I bought it last year from this gal! I also was introduced to the iPhone Quadcam app. For a bit you'll be seeing four of everything ;)  Do any of you have those cameras that take 4 pictures at once? They sold them at Urban Outfitters for a bit.

Today's Halloween-ness  is this creepy cute zombie coffin clip!

This is the biggest sugar-free redbull they have, I may need two! Note it's size in comparison to the dunny! Oh and see the million dollar bill on my desk, a customer wanted us to print them (I work at a printer), but it's kinda against the law, so no can do!

Giant Granny

I finally learned how to crochet a granny square, with the help of many!! My granny square is as big as my head. I'm not great at it, so to practice I'm just going to go around and around the square.  Maybe it will be a blanket, maybe I'll get bored with it half way through - there's no way of knowing :)

What a hoot

Owl cupcakes for lil Molly's birthday! I used my cupcake book from Janel for the first time! They were surprisingly easy to make! The Hello, Cupcake book is awesome!!

Saturday this little papercrane came in the mail! Thank you Janel! Mickey really really wanted to play with it. It was killing him lol!

Lauren, my sis, will be 23 tomorrow! I wish I could surprise her up in Nashville! I miss her so much! Because I can't keep surprises and no one expects me to - here is Lauren's Lucky 13 embroidery! Her birthday is on the 13, plus it's in October, so here you go! Lucky 13 horseshoe with bat wings and some star tattoo filler!
